We Need Your Help
Friday, November 07, 2008 - 11:02 AM
Crime is down in Ogden--in fact, Ogden's crime rate is the lowest it has been in 20 years--but we need your help to continue the trend.
The city is asking every resident to be an advocate for crime prevention. A questionnaire has been mailed to every household that asks about illegal activity within your neighborhoods and asks for residents' e-mail addresses.
The e-mail address will be kept confidential and used by police officers to communicate with citizens when help is needed in specific areas of the city.
Please fill out and return the Crime Prevention Advocacy postcard or call 801-629-8388 to respond via telephone, or to submit on-line click here.
Be and Advocate for crime prevention and pay attention to what is happening in your neighborhood. Be aware of changes and if you see suspicious activity, report it to the Ogden City Police Department's non-emergency dispatch number at 801-935-8221 or your neighborhood community policing officer.
You can make a difference in your neighborhood.

Ogden Seeks To Identify Rental Properties
Thursday, January 24, 2008 - 03:52 AM
Citizens are being asked to report possible rental properties in their neighborhood as part of a City wide effort to identify all rental dwellings and make sure they are properly licensed.
Rental properties are required by law to be licensed as a business and are encouraged to follow basic guidelines through the Good Landlord Program, which helps ensure that rental properties are an enhancement to our city’s neighborhoods.
All 2008 business license fees are due by January 31, and the City is offering a penalty-free grace period to citizens until February 5 to bring their license fees current.
For a copy of the full press release issued January 24th on this topic, click here.
